New in our stock: Geely
you already know geely...
Geely, officially Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, isn't new to the industry. The company built motorcycles from 1994, moved into cars in 1997, and bought Volvo in 2010. It now owns Volvo, Polestar, Lynk & Co, Lotus, half of Smart, and London's electric black cab maker, and holds a stake in Mercedes-Benz. If you've sold any of those brands, you've already done business with Geely.
What's new is the Geely nameplate itself. The group's own mass-market brand launched under its own name across Western Europe in March this year.
Where It Sits in the Market
Within the Geely group, six European passenger-car brands run from accessible to exclusive, with deliberately distinct positions. Geely is the mainstream volume brand, focused on affordability and practical, well-equipped family cars, while Lynk & Co sits just above as a design-led, semi-premium brand for younger urban buyers, offering only EV and plug-in hybrid models in Europe.
Volvo is the established Swedish premium brand with the strongest reputation for safety and the widest network, and Polestar occupies the electric-performance niche, pairing Scandinavian design with sporty EV technology.
Zeekr is the premium-EV flagship, technologically the most advanced. Lotus tops the range with exclusive, high-performance sports cars and EVs built around lightweight engineering.
The deliberate mid-segment overlap between Volvo, Polestar, and Lynk & Co reflects the "One Geely" strategy: shared platforms with separate brand identities.
Rolling out Fast Across Europe
Geely launched in five core markets at once in late March 2026: Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Within the first half of the year it had entered seven European markets in 45 days, and models like the E5 and Starray EM-i are already sold in more than 20 countries.
The warranty backs that goal up: 8 years or 200,000 km, including the battery, plus 3 years of roadside assistance. That's a strong argument when a brand is still building trust.
Through Volvo, Geely already has years of experience designing, building, and selling light premium cars, and understands how European sales networks work. That's why several analysts expect it to become more profitable in Europe over time than other Chinese brands entering the market.
Product Spotlight: Geely Starray EM-i
The Starray EM-i is a plug-in hybrid C-SUV, competing directly with the Ford Kuga, Hyundai Tucson, BYD Seal U, MG HS, and VW Tiguan PHEV. It's the plug-in counterpart to the fully electric Geely E5.
Powertrain and range
A 1.5-litre petrol engine pairs with one of two LFP battery packs. Combined range runs from 1,002 to 1,055 km, with average consumption of 2.4 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 32 to 54 g/km (energy label A). The combined output of the petrol and electric engine is 262 hp.
| Version | Battery | Electric range (WLTP) | DC charging |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Range | 18.4 kWh | up to 83 km | up to 30 kW |
| Long Range | 29.8 kWh | up to 136 km | up to 60 kW |
Charging and practicality
A home charge at 6.6 kW takes around 4 to 6 hours. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) is standard. Boot space is 528 litres, or 2,065 litres with the seats folded, in a body 4.74 metres long.
Interior, tech and safety
The Max version offers a 15.4-inch HD display, a panoramic sky-view roof, a 16-speaker Flyme sound system with a 1000W amplifier, and over-the-air updates. It carries a full 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
What reviewers say
Reviews so far are positive but fair, which makes them easy to use in your own sales conversations. The price level, technology and electric range pose an interesting alternative to European brands. The interior space, materials and finishing make the Geely Starray really stand out. At this price point, the level of quality is unparalleled. The combination of technical features, equipment level and comfort make the Geely Starray an interesting newcomer on the market.
